Bearing blocks

Forged and machined bearing housings that hold alignment under heavy, shock-loaded duty in steel plants, cranes and heavy equipment.

Overview

A bearing block (also called a plummer block or pillow block) is the housing that holds a bearing and supports a rotating shaft. In steel plants, cranes and heavy machinery it has to carry shock loads, keep the shaft aligned and keep dirt and water out of the bearing.

SNT is a specialist manufacturer of bearing blocks. We make them to customer drawing, forged and machined in-house, and can supply them as ready-to-fit sub-assemblies.

What matters

What makes a bearing block last.

01

Accurate bearing seat

Bore size, roundness and position decide bearing fit and life. They are machined to the drawing's tolerances.

02

Alignment

Base and mounting faces square to the bore, so the shaft runs true across two or more blocks.

03

Strength

A sound housing carries the shock loads of rolling, lifting and conveying without cracking or distorting.

04

Sealing & lubrication

Seal grooves, grease points and covers made as specified, to keep lubricant in and contamination out.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you make bearing blocks to our drawing?

Yes. We manufacture to customer drawings. Send the drawing with material, quantity and any inspection requirements.

Can you supply them as assemblies?

Yes. We build sub-assemblies, so tell us the bearings, seals and fasteners you want fitted.

What files should I send?

A PDF drawing is enough to start. A DWG, DXF or STEP file helps us plan machining faster.

Need bearing blocks made to your drawing?

Send the drawing and quantities, and our engineers will come back with a route and quote.
