Parts & materials
Typical grades for guidance. We always follow the material on your drawing.
| Component | Function | Typical materials | Critical features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pump barrels & bodies | House the rotating assembly and hold pressure | CI, SG iron or steel | Bore size, face flatness, sealing faces |
| Pump shafts | Carry the impeller and transmit power | EN8, EN19, SS410, SS304 | Runout, journal finish, keyways |
| Shaft sleeves | Protect the shaft at seals and glands | SS410, SS304 | Outside finish, concentricity |
| Coupling hubs | Connect motor and pump | EN8, SG iron | Bore and keyway, face runout |
| Bearing housings | Support the shaft bearings | SG iron, cast steel | Bearing seat size and alignment |
| Glands & covers | Hold packing or mechanical seals | EN8, CI, bronze | Seal bore, face finish |
Pump makers run many sizes and ratings on a common platform. Tell us the part family and expected volumes, and we can plan fixtures that make switching between variants quick.
What matters
Shafts and bores that run true keep vibration down and bearings and seals alive.
Faces and bores that carry seals need the right finish and flatness to hold pressure without leaks.
Pump makers change ratings and sizes often. In-house design and automation help us turn new drawings around fast.
Manufacturing route
Material, tolerances, quantities and inspection needs checked up front.
Forging, bar or plate, chosen for the strength and size the part needs.
Stock removed with allowance left for the final operations.
Hardening, normalising or case hardening, where the drawing specifies it.
Bores, journals, faces, keyways, splines and threads brought to final size.
Assembled if required, checked against the drawing, protected and packed.
Quality
FAQ
It depends on the liquid and the duty: EN8 or EN19 for clean water and general service, SS410 or SS304 where corrosion matters. We follow the grade on your drawing.
Yes. We build sub-assemblies, so shafts can be supplied with sleeves, keys and other parts fitted as specified.
Yes. In-house design and automation let us bring up new parts and variants quickly.
