Parts & materials
Typical grades for guidance. We always follow the material on your drawing.
| Component | Function | Typical materials | Critical features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bearing blocks | Carry wheel and line-shaft bearings | Cast steel, SG iron or forged steel | Bore position, base and face squareness |
| Wheel axles | Carry the wheels on end carriages | EN19, EN24 | Bearing seats, keyways, straightness |
| Drum & gear shafts | Transmit hoist and travel torque | EN19, EN24 | Journals, splines or keyways |
| Gear coupling hubs | Connect motors, gearboxes and line shafts | EN8, EN19 | Bore, keyway, face runout |
| Sheave pins & bushes | Support the rope sheaves | EN8, EN19 | Diameter, finish, grease paths |
EOT cranes in India are commonly designed to IS 807, with IS 3177 for general-purpose EOT cranes and IS 4137 for steel works cranes. Parts are made to the crane builder's drawing for the crane's duty class, so send the drawing with any duty or material notes.
What matters
Cranes start, stop and lift under load. Parts need the strength margin to carry it safely.
Wheels and drives must track true. Bearing seats and faces have to be square and on size.
Spares must be interchangeable so maintenance teams can change them in a shutdown window.
Manufacturing route
Material, tolerances, quantities and inspection needs checked up front.
Forging, bar or plate, chosen for the strength and size the part needs.
Stock removed with allowance left for the final operations.
Hardening, normalising or case hardening, where the drawing specifies it.
Bores, journals, faces, keyways, splines and threads brought to final size.
Assembled if required, checked against the drawing, protected and packed.

FAQ
Yes. Bearing blocks are one of our flagship products, made to the crane builder's drawing.
Yes. We build sub-assemblies with the bearings and seals you specify.
Commonly EN19 or EN24, heat treated as the design calls for. We follow the grade on your drawing.
