Parts & materials
Typical grades for guidance. We always follow the material on your drawing.
| Component | Function | Typical materials | Critical features |
|---|---|---|---|
| End caps & glands | Close the cylinder and guide the rod | EN8, EN9, SG iron | Seal groove size and finish, concentricity |
| Pistons | Separate the pressure chambers | EN8, SG iron | Outside diameter and groove tolerances |
| Rod eyes & clevises | Connect the cylinder to the machine | Forged EN8 or EN19 | Pin bore size, thread |
| Valve bodies & manifold blocks | Route oil between components | EN8, mild steel, SG iron | Port positions, thread form, burr-free bores |
| Bushes | Guide sliding and rotating parts | Bronze, steel | Bore size and finish |
Groove sizes and surface finish on hydraulic parts usually come from the seal manufacturer's catalogue. Send the seal make and series with your drawing so the grooves match the seals you will fit.
What matters
Fits between moving parts decide leakage and efficiency at pressure.
Sealing and sliding faces need the right finish so seals last.
Burrs and chips damage seals and valves, so parts must leave the shop clean.
Manufacturing route
Material, tolerances, quantities and inspection needs checked up front.
Forging, bar or plate, chosen for the strength and size the part needs.
Stock removed with allowance left for the final operations.
Hardening, normalising or case hardening, where the drawing specifies it.
Bores, journals, faces, keyways, splines and threads brought to final size.
Assembled if required, checked against the drawing, protected and packed.
Quality
FAQ
Yes. We can supply end caps, glands, pistons and rod eyes together for each cylinder size, made to your drawings.
Parts are deburred and cleaned before packing, because chips and burrs damage seals and valves.
End caps, glands and pistons commonly use EN8, EN9 or SG iron, and rod eyes forged EN8 or EN19. We follow the grade on your drawing.
